Rule enforcement:

First offense: you will receive a warning

Second offense: a temporary ban form the forum

Third offense: you will be permanently banned.

• These rules cover most common situations, we cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure this forum is not disrupted or abused in any way.


• The moderators and webmaster reserve the right to edit, move or remove any post at any time. The moderators and webmaster have the final word on the interpretation of these and all rules. The rules may be changed in whole or in part notification will be sent if this occurs.


• Discussion of moderator actions are not permitted in the forums, subjects and/or signatures. You can PM or e-mail the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private only.


• Any attempt to circumvent a temporary ban will lead to that ban being made permanent. Circumvention includes re-registering under a non-banned username, changing IP addresses to evade an IP ban and/or registering a new e-mail account to evade an e-mail ban.


• Bans are a last resort and very serious thought will be given before implementing any ban. If you receive a warning it will be discussed with you. You will have a chance to defend yourself.


• No hacking- any attempts to hack this forum and/or usernames will result in a permanent ban.


Posting Rules:

• No information or links you know to be false or inaccurate
• No defamatory, abusive, vulgar, obscene or profane behavior
• No racial, hate, sexist or sexual orientation content or links
• No flaming or abusing users in any way will be tolerated. You can discuss and disagree without being rude.
• No pornographic or generally offensive content, links, etc. will be tolerated.
• Zero tolerance on piracy related links to sites for: warez, bit torrents and/or program cracks, etc. are allowed on this forum. Anyone participating in and/or promoting piracy activity on the forum will be terminated with prejudice.
• No bashing vendors, websites, other forums or products will be tolerated.
• No cursing Word Censoring is enabled on this forum any attempts to defeat it and/or mask censored words will be dealt with seriously
• No spamming, e-mail harvesting, phishing or other such practices are tolerated.
• Please all content should be written in English.


Forum Guidelines:

• Only one account per person is permitted.

• Respect the copyright of other users, sites, media, etc. Give credit to the author and/or website.

• A Family Friendly forum will be maintained please keep this in mind when posting.

• Follow general netiquette rules, be polite and respectful to all members.

• Post in a way that is consistent with "normal writing". Avoid excessive use of emoticons, large, small or coloured text, etc. Similarly users should not SHOUT (use all caps) or use excessive punctuation.

• Use appropriate and descriptive subjects when adding new topics.

• Write in the relevant board read board descriptions before posting.

• No Thread Jacking stay on the original poster’s (OP) topic. If you want to discuss something else start a new thread.

• Do not cross-post the same question in multiple boards

• Personal Messaging (PM) is enabled on this forum. All posting rules will be enforced.

• Reporting to moderators is enabled for posts and personal messages (PM).

• Avatars are limited to 200 pixels sq and contain no animation and not exceed 10KB in size. Vendors may use their logos. Avatars must conform to forum rules.

• Signatures may contain up to 500 characters. You may add images and/or links. Use common sense please no large pictures they will be removed. Signatures are subject to all posting rules.

• Create your own photo albums in the Gallery. No inapporate content! Please try to give your pictures meaningful names and descriptions.

• On the menu bar is a tab to submit Articles also view or rate articles from members. All posting rules apply. Only aquria related articles. No inapporate content! You can use the HTML codes in your article.

• On the menu bar is a tab to submit Links. Content of links posted must conform to our rules. Only aquria related links. No inapporate content!

• On the menu bar is a tab to enter Chat. This is an open chat that all members can see and join in. All forum rules are to be followed.

• Attachments are permitted but each is limited to 1024 kb. All posting rules apply.

• When you upload files you agree they may be used by the forum for promotion and/or display. You still own the copyright if it is your creation.

• A Calendar is available to members to add events related to aquaria, holidays or memorible moments in history as examples. Vendors may use it to announce sales, etc. You can select your calendar entry to appear in the 'Announce' broad as well. If this feature is abused it may be limited or removed.

• Classifieds are available for everyone to use. There is no bidding you must post a price. Please delete your posts when the transaction is completed. You may bump your items but please not excessively. Use common sense don’t try to charge unrealistic prices or sell a single plant stem for $0.25 as examples. Be honest about the items condition. Buyers if you say your showing up please be courteous show up or call. Don’t try to low-ball a seller. Over all respect each other as always. The Cafe, moderators or webmaster are not responsible in any way regarding transactions between members. We will not take sides in a transaction – Buyer Beware!

• Trade rating is available by clicking on the ‘Trade Count:’ next to the member’s username in a post or in the member’s profile. This will be monitored to insure it is not abused if so warnings will be given. This feature is available to build each other’s reputation and allow others to follow the history of past transactions involving the member. It will keep us all honest.

• Karma rating is also available it can be clicked just above the member’s post count. This feature is also monitored. If it is abused the member will recieve a warning. Use this when you feel a member has done something positive, helped another, etc.

• Vendors are able to advertise for free. They will be given a forum that they can moderate. These forums are used to ask vendors questions and them to let us all know about specials, new products or new arrivals. No one is permitted to abuse, bash and/or flame vendors in any way especially in these forums. They may submit a banner to be added to the forum. They also may use their logo as an avatar. Vendors are asked to offer members a discount for receiving these benefits but it is not compulsory. If you have any dispute or issue regarding a vendor The Aquatic Cafe holds no responsibility. You are strongly encoruaged to contact the vendor directly to voice your concern in an attempt to resolve the issue.

• Discounts will only be given to members presenting an Aquatic Cafe membership card. You will be sent this card electronically by requesting it from the webmaster. You are responsible for printing and laminating your card. The card is not transferable to anyone else. If someone is caught transferring their card or misuse they will loss their privileges and/or receive a warning and/or banning.
